The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights said on Tuesday that it had confirmed the deaths of 1,179 civilians, including 104 children, in Ukraine since the Russian invasion on February 24, but said the figure was probably much higher .

From 4 am on 24 February 2022, when the Russian Federation’s armed attack on Ukraine began, until 24:00 on 28 March 2022 local time, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) recorded 3,039 civilian casualties in the country: 1,179 dead and 1,860 wounded, “the report said.

According to OHCHR, these figures include:
a total of 1,179 killed (236 men, 172 women, 15 girls and 34 boys, as well as 55 children and 667 adults whose gender is still unknown);
a total of 1,860 wounded (209 men, 157 women, 34 girls and 26 boys, as well as 74 children and 1,360 adults whose gender is still unknown).
In Donetsk and Luhansk regions, according to the UN Office – 388 dead and 949 wounded.
In other oblasts of Ukraine (Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Kherson, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zhytomyr oblasts) that were under government control, according to the OHCHR, there were 791 dead and 911 wounded.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, 144 children have already died due to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, more than 220 have been injured.
