In Italy, refugees from Ukraine will be able to obtain a residence permit for 12 months, which will provide access to education, the labor market, medical services and some social benefits. The decree was signed by Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

Temporary protection and assistance will be established for refugees arriving from Ukraine. Police departments will have the right to issue residence permits to Ukrainians.
Also, the head of civil defense Fabrizio Curcio signed a contract with a special fund, which provides a monthly contribution of 300 euros for each refugee from Ukraine for a maximum of three months.
The decree follows the decision of the European Council summit on the temporary protection regime. These are citizens of Ukraine and third countries who enjoy international protection and members of their families.
