The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees stated that the aggression forced more than four million people to leave Ukraine and move to neighboring countries in search of safety and to defeat the terror in their hearts. The Ukrainian civilians were distributed among European countries as follows:
- 2.3 million in Poland
- 608 thousand in Romania
- Hundreds of thousands in Moldova, Hungary and Slovakia.
As well as the two million children who abandoned their innocent dreams and hopes in their countries against their will.
As for medical facilities, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights said that the Russian bombing had destroyed medical facilities, including 50 hospitals.
Bachelet once again called on the UN Secretary-General to end hostilities, and insisted that the Russian leadership listen to clear and decisive calls from the UN General Assembly and take immediate action to withdraw its forces from Ukraine.
The President of the United Nations Human Rights Council Federico Villegas also announced the formation of a commission to investigate war crimes and other violations committed by Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.
