Radakin said Putin had been misled about the military might of the Russian army. She was unable to fulfill the whims of the Russian president – to occupy Ukraine.
“Putin is not far-sighted at all, although he would like us to believe in it. He has caused himself a series of catastrophic mistakes,” the admiral said.
He says Britain is “very careful” to believe Russia’s claims about withdrawing troops from Kyiv. He adds that there are signs that the Kremlin is preparing to focus its efforts on eastern and southern Ukraine.
He also said that “in many ways Putin has already lost.”
