“Today (March 31 – ed.) Ukraine informed the IAEA that the Russian military, which has controlled the Chernobyl nuclear power plant since February 24, according to a written document handed over control of the nuclear power plant to Ukrainian personnel and led military convoys,” the agency said .
Late in the evening on March 31, DAZV stated that there were no more “outsiders” at the facility.

From March 20-21, Ukraine did not report on the rotation of personnel at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the IAEA said.
“Director General (Rafael Mariano) Grossi said that the IAEA is in close consultation with the Ukrainian authorities to send the first aid and support mission to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in the next few days,” the statement said.

The Chernobyl nuclear power plant is the site of the world’s worst nuclear disaster in 1986. Russian troops took control of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant at the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine. Ukrainian staff remained at this facility to support the work.
