“The whole world sees that our brand of Christian Democratic, conservative, patriotic politics has won. We are sending a message to Europe that this is not the past, this is the future!” – said the head of the Hungarian government.
Orban also cited criticism from Zelensky, who has repeatedly challenged the Hungarian leader over his apparent lack of support and unwillingness to personally condemn his close ally, Vladimir Putin, for invading Ukraine.
“We will remember this victory, perhaps even for a lifetime, because we had the widest range of rivals to overcome. The left at home, the international left, the bureaucrats in Brussels, the money of the Soros empire, the international media and, ultimately, the Ukrainian president.” He said with a laugh from the crowd.
Orbán’s fourth term, his fifth overall, could also be a puzzle for NATO and the EU amid growing concerns about Hungary’s attitude to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and whether it is a reliable partner in the alliance.
Although Orban has so far not tried to block sanctions and a military response to the attack, he has “signaled” a reluctance to consider measures that would cut supplies of Russian oil and gas.

The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, stated that Hungary would not join the EU sanctions against Russia on energy imports. He said that “such sanctions will harm us more than Russia.”
“I have always supported V4 and I am very sorry that cheap Russian oil is more important for Ukrainian politicians than Ukrainian blood,” said Yana Chernokhova.
