Ukraine Gate- Kyiv – April 7, 2022- A spokesman for the Canadian Defense Minister, Daniel Minden, said that Canada has expressed its interest in sending troops to Poland with the aim of helping Ukrainian refugees who fled the war to Poland.
A team of Canadian military planners arrived in Poland this week to assess the assistance Canadian soldiers can provide to refugees. This team is exploring the possibility of deploying the Canadian Armed Forces to help Poland and its allies and support Canadian efforts to provide care, coordination and assistance for more Ukrainian refugee movement, Minden said.
He added that the team in Poland would make recommendations regarding the scale of the operation and the tasks that the Canadian Armed Forces could perform.
Minden stressed that the final decision on the deployment of troops to Poland is still being studied by Canada.
