Ukraine Gate- Kyiv – April 7, 2022- The Pentagon spokesperson stated that Russian forces have completely withdrawn from the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions in the past 24 hours, leaving behind mines that still need to be cleared, indicating that the Russian Federation is likely to increase the concentration of all its forces in eastern Ukraine.
The official said that the Pentagon has not seen the return of soldiers to eastern Ukraine, because it appears that the withdrawal of Russian forces from the Ukrainian capital is complete, and many units have retreated through Belarus.
The Pentagon estimates that there are more than 30 Russian tactical battalions operating in the Donbass.
As the White House previously revealed intelligence about the new Russian military plan, Russia wants full control of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, to develop an offensive in southern Ukraine in the direction of Kherson and Mykolaiv, as well as continue the bombing of Ukrainian cities.
