The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has stated that peace talks between Ukraine and Russia “cannot exist” without the participation of Belarus. He informed that he had transferred this position to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and instructed to implement it.

“There can be no negotiations without the participation of Belarus. If you involve us in this, first of all, Western countries, there, of course, the position of Belarus should be heard in these negotiations. We do not assume that we were loaded in the same basket with Russia “No, we assume that the war behind the fence of our country and it seriously affects the situation in Belarus. Therefore, there can be no separate agreements behind Belarus,” Lukashenko said at a meeting of the Security Council in an expanded format.
“And I am absolutely convinced and I know that Russia understands this position. There is nothing wrong with that, but it will contradict the West’s plan. But this does not mean that we should dance to the tune of the West,” the Belarusian dictator concluded.
