Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov admitted today that Russia suffered “significant” losses in its forces in Ukraine, describing the losses as a “great tragedy” for the country, this came during an interview with Sky News.
Asked whether the use of English words Kyiv and its region should view it as a “humiliation” for the Kremlin, Peskov said that using these words would be a “misunderstanding of the situation.”
“We have big troop losses, which is a great tragedy for us,” Peskov admitted, adding that the reason for Russia’s withdrawal from the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions was “goodwill during the negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations.”
The Kremlin spokesman added that Russia did this “to raise tension in those regions in order to show that Russia is really ready to create comfortable conditions for continuing negotiations.”
