Details
It is reported that any road transport company established in Belarus is prohibited from transporting goods by road in the Union, including transit.
However, there are a few exceptions, these include:
Purchase, import or transport in the EU of natural gas and oil, including refined products, as well as titanium, aluminum, copper, nickel, palladium and iron ore;
Transportation of pharmaceutical, medical, agricultural and food products, including wheat and fertilizers, the import, purchase and transportation of which are permitted under this decision;
Humanitarian goals;
Delivery of goods necessary for the functioning of the diplomatic and consular missions of the Union and the Member States in Belarus, including delegations, embassies and missions, or international organizations in Belarus, which enjoy immunities in accordance with international law.
Earlier, a similar restriction was imposed on Russian road transport companies with the same exceptions.
Addition
The Council of the European Union has officially announced that the EU has adopted the fifth package of sanctions against Russia, which includes a coal embargo, which will take effect only in August 2022.
