According to border guards, some of the men, hoping to circumvent the restrictions on travel abroad, fell victim to fraud. The latter, through anonymous channels, offer illegal services for which they take money and disappear.
There are also those who try to bribe border guards. The rest of the offenders use forged documents in which they attribute disability to themselves or their children, call their wives dead, or add the number of children. But border guards also effectively detect fake papers.
Therefore, most violators are trying to cross the border outside the checkpoints with the help of guides, according to the SBGS. The latter, as experience shows, do not care much about the safety of their “wards”.
Thus, it is reported that the other day law enforcement officers detained a carrier – a Moldovan citizen, who crossed the Dniester in a small two-seater boat to pick up four men from Ukraine. Their border guards also detained them.
It is also reported that recently law enforcement officers found the bodies of men on the shores of border reservoirs. Men who became victims of bad weather in the Carpathians were also violators.
