It was reported that after the liberation of Kyiv region from invaders and demining, Ukravtodor immediately began to restore traffic on this section.
“We are building a temporary crossing, as well as dismantling the destroyed bridge. At the beginning of next week we plan to open a temporary passage through the crossing and restore communication with Kyiv,” the statement said.
Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov said that the Zhytomyr highway is one of the main transport arteries of the country.
“For almost a week now, restoration work has been underway on the road: it is being cleaned, cleared of damaged cars and equipment,” Kubrakov said.

On April 7, it was reported that pit repairs of the Kyiv-Chop highway, which had been damaged by an enemy missile strike, had begun.
