Ukraine Gate- Kyiv – April 12, 2022- Referring to the Turkish Ministry of National Defense on Twitter, Turkey has conducted large-scale military exercises in the Aegean, Mediterranean and Black Seas.
Also participating in the exercises are 122 ships, 41 aviation and marine groups, landing groups, submarine defense units, submarine attack units, coastal units that include the gendarmerie, the coast guard, and others.
Where ships, aircraft and helicopters of various types and classes are participating, as well as drones and submarines, the training will continue until April 21, over three phases.
Turkey also announced the closure of the Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits for warships in accordance with the terms of the Montreux Convention during the war.
Turkey has increased the combat readiness of its demining ships and patrol aircraft as a result of the threat of mines in the Black Sea.
