Ukraine Gate- Kyiv – April 13, 2022- Russian media reported that Russia has intensified its military forces at the Lipetsk 2 airport in the Lipetsk region, according to satellite images, and also stated that the number of fighters and bombers at the airport doubled compared to the end of March.
Also, there are more than 30 military aircraft at the Lipetsk-2 airport, which belongs to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for the military purposes of the army.
The Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces told reporters that the Russian army uses this airport to attack Ukrainian cities located in the eastern direction.
Satellite images showed 6 heavy multi-role and highly maneuverable Su-27 fighters, 14 Su-30 or Su-34 bombers, 10 Su-24 bombers and 4 other unidentified aircraft.
It is not yet known where the military planes were transferred to the airport, but the possible previous location of these fighters and bombers could have been Belarusian airfields, military experts have suggested.
The active actions of the Russian army affect the movement of civil aircraft in the region, and the Lipetsk region is on the list of those in which civilian airports have ceased to function, these are mainly areas adjacent to or located near the border with Ukraine, and these restrictions have been extended until April 19 on the least.
