“Planet Lab images showed that at least 824 new graves were added to the Kherson cemetery between February 28 and April 15. The burial place is on the outskirts of the city, east of the airport,” the statement said.
“It’s scary to think about how civilians died and what else is happening in those areas,” said Benjamin Strick, director of investigations.
It is noted that many of the 280,000 residents of Kherson left the city after the Russian invasion. But Russian occupying forces have also faced resistance and protests from civilians in the city and apparently lost control of part of it late last month, according to the US Department of Defense, which said Kherson had become a disputed territory.
Addition
The ombudswoman Lyudmila Denisova reported that an analogue of the Donetsk Isolation for torture of those who disagreed with the occupation regime had appeared in Kherson. The abduction of pro-Ukrainian activists also continues.
It was reported that the Kherson region is on the verge of ecological catastrophe.
