The State Special Communications Service explained that the mass use of Starlink satellite Internet may partially affect the operation of radio relay equipment of the Ukrainian military. Therefore, the use of terminals for access to the network from SpaceX by consumers, except for critical infrastructure, is currently limited.
“This problem is temporary and related to the novelty of SpaceX technology. To remove these limitations, calculations and a series of studies are needed to demonstrate how the operation of terminals on the frequencies they use can affect the performance of other users. Starlink terminals, they can be allowed for mass use, “- said in the department.
There are no artificial bans or restrictions on using the Internet with Starlink, the service said.
“All citizens and businesses will be able to access satellite Internet after completing all necessary procedures. The NCU and the National Commission for Regulation of Electronic Communications, Radio Frequency Spectrum and Postal Services are already working and completing it in the near future,” – noted in the State Special Service.
