Details
It is known that in the temporarily occupied Crimea, the occupiers plan to organize “retraining camps” for teachers from Kherson, Kharkiv and Zaporizhia regions, as well as Ukrainian schoolchildren.
“All this indicates that they are actively preparing for the new school year. According to their plan, it should start with our deported students and teachers. In this situation, it is important to legally protect our teachers, because it is about saving the lives of Ukrainian citizens, “said Kremin.
The Ombudsman insists that the Ukrainian authorities should develop prevention mechanisms and work ahead. In particular, it is necessary to consider ways to return children and teachers to Ukraine, he said.
Also, the Russian occupiers are fighting against Ukrainian books, which, in their opinion, do not meet the national interests of Russia. Flint notes that these are, in particular, books on the history of Ukraine.
The ombudsman stressed that “linguocide is one of the components of genocide, so in a comprehensive sense it is a matter of destroying people, bearers of Ukrainian culture and language.”
