“So far, the UN has not raised this issue. We need to see who may be leading the investigation. Unfortunately, the experience of previous investigations, including the ICC (International Criminal Court – ed.), Shows an extremely biased position.” , – Ilyichev declared.
Bucha massacre
The Bucha massacre was the mass murder of Ukrainian civilians in the city of Bucha in the Kyiv region, which was accompanied by abductions, torture, rape, including of children, and looting. The crimes were recorded after the departure of the Russian armed forces.
Ukrainian authorities have said more than 420 people have died, calling the massacre a genocide of Ukrainians, and have asked the International Criminal Court to investigate what happened in the city. The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov stated that the number of people killed by Russian troops in Bucha, Kyiv region, is greater than the number of victims of the tragedy in Vukovar.
The Russian authorities deny any wrongdoing and describe the footage and photographs of the victims as a provocation or staging by the Ukrainian authorities. These objections were refuted by international media, including Bellingcat, Deutsche Welle, The Economist, the BBC and The New York Times.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin awarded the 64th Motorized Rifle Brigade the “honorary” title of “Guards”. It was these soldiers who were in Bucha, where hundreds of innocent people were killed. GUR MO published a list of servicemen of the brigade. The published list includes the names and personal data of servicemen from privates to colonels.
