Ukraine Gate- Kyiv – April 19, 2022- First Lady of Turkey Emine Erdogan organized a traditional Iftar party during Ramadan in Ankara, attended by young Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars who became refugees as a result of the Russian war against Ukraine.
“Language, religion, or race cannot be a cause of privilege or discrimination,” she said. “Our hand of friendship extends to all countries, all people, all women and children. The war in Ukraine has deeply shocked us. Every war has deeply affected us,” said the first lady. It erupted, and every bullet fired penetrates what we call the values of humanity.”
The first lady of Turkey noted that after the outbreak of war, nearly 800 Ukrainian children were evacuated and found refuge “We need a world where problems between countries can be resolved through diplomacy and where humanitarian dialogue is the only solution. Children feel safe and do not worry about the future.”
The wife of Ukraine’s ambassador to Turkey, Katerina Bodnar, participated in the breakfast party, with the participation of Ukrainian refugee children, and the singer sang Jamala in front of the audience.
Katerina Bodnar also said that the Ukrainian orphans who were evacuated to Turkey came from orphanages in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
