“The Red Cross is deeply concerned about the situation in Mariupol, where the population is in dire need of help. Voluntary safe exit from the city, including the Azovstal plant, thousands of civilians and hundreds of wounded need immediate unhindered humanitarian access,” the statement said.

The international organization has said it has been working since the end of February to help needy civilians in Mariupol and other cities from which they cannot escape.
It was added that the ICRC has repeatedly called for the safe escape of civilians from these areas, as well as for permission to send humanitarian aid there.
