“On behalf of the president, I made a proposal to my friend Michael McFaul. I am glad that he supported it, and an international expert group has been working for some time, which includes both Ukrainian and international experts. Which very deeply analyzed all the sanctions already imposed. They also made strategic proposals for new sanctions. Today, this program, dubbed McFaul-Ermak, will be presented to the international press today. And it has clearly defined new sanctions, as we will propose to apply against the Russian Federation to our partners, the European Union, as well as the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries, “Ermak said.

The head of the President’s Office stressed that, of course, the main thing can be said today: that the fact that the war in Ukraine continues, that our people and children continue to be killed, shows that the sanctions policy is insufficient and should be strengthened.
“It simply came to our notice then. And I would like to say here that the support of the European Union for the introduction of a full energy embargo is very important. I mean both oil and gas. Also the application of sanctions against all Russian banks. We believe that sanctions on recognizing Russia as a sponsor of terrorism would be very strong. “I also believe that Russia’s inclusion in the FATF blacklist should be considered on the example of those countries to which these sanctions have already been applied,” he added.
