Zelensky said that the talks lasted more than 3 hours and were meaningful, encouraging and effective.
“We have agreed with the American side on further steps to strengthen the Armed Forces, meet all the priority needs of our army, including preparations for a large ministerial meeting on Tuesday, which will bring together 40 defense ministers of partner countries,” Zelensky said.
He also stressed that the key issue is the protection of Ukraine and freedom in Eastern Europe.
“We discussed ways to strengthen sanctions, and the fact that Russia is not seeking peace shows that more sanctions are needed. So we handed over a special plan to strengthen sanctions against Russia, developed by an international expert group led by Ermak and McFaul,” he said.
