Researchers Find Smartphone Time Is Not Associated with Poor Mental Health
Researchers in the UK measured the time spent on smartphones by 199 iPhone users and 46 Android users in one week. Participants were also asked about their mental and physical health by completing clinical scales measuring symptoms of anxiety and depression.
It turned out that long-term use of the smartphone does not harm the psyche, meanwhile, some phone users experienced anxiety, which arose if a person believed that they used the smartphone too often. It also found that 87% of all phone use occurs while seated. The study found that reducing the time spent on a smartphone would not make a big difference in improving mental health and mental health.
Some polls show that young people spend at least 11 hours a day on electronic devices, and almost 29% of them use two or more electronic devices at the same time. Early research has shown that this multitasking approach not only exacerbates neural activity in the anterior cingulate brains of participants, but also impairs memory.
