Who can use Starlink in Ukraine
On April 20, a decision was made to allow Starlink terminals to be used by anyone interested in martial law. Based on this, the NCU at the State Special Communications Service has prepared clarifying recommendations for the use of subscriber satellite terminals of the SpaceX Starlink system.
How to connect to Starlink
First of all, you need a special user terminal – it looks like a satellite dish. Terminals are delivered to Ukraine with installation and configuration instructions. Instructions are also available on the manufacturer’s website.
In fact, the connection process is quite simple. You need to connect the antenna to the terminal with the included cable, and connect the terminal to the mains. Then install the Starlink app from Google Play or the AppStore on your smartphone or tablet. By following the instructions in the app, you can connect to satellite internet.
Is it possible to use the Starlink Internet if you do not have a terminal
Starlink is a personal device. This is not a base station of a mobile operator, to which anyone can connect and just get the Internet. Each device belongs to someone, and it is its owner who will determine how he will use this Internet – independently or share it with a neighbor. In fact, it’s like handing out the Internet from your phone: you pay the operator for a package of services and can share the Internet with people around you.
