Ukraine Gate- Kyiv – April 27, 2022- As a result of the all-out Russian war in Ukraine, direct damage to agricultural assets amounted to $6.4 billion.
This was stated in the report of the Food and Agriculture Organization of Ukraine.
FAO states that the total capital cost of Ukrainian agriculture is estimated at $29 billion. Potential direct damage to FAO’s agricultural assets was previously estimated at $6.4 billion (this includes destroyed irrigation infrastructure, granaries,
agricultural machinery, port infrastructure, greenhouses, processing equipment, lost crops and animals).
In addition, the FAO estimates the economic losses to Ukraine from the war in 2022 at about $22 billion.

Armed conflict in Syria, given the complexity of Ukraine’s food system (including export infrastructure), the report added, adding that the country will lose billions of dollars due to difficulties in exporting agricultural products.
It should be noted that the organization will provide financial assistance to Ukrainian farmers.
