Details
According to the agency, it is unclear whether both invited presidents will be present at the meeting of the “twenty” in person. At the same time, as noted, Russia has previously indicated that Putin plans to be present on the ground.
Vidodo postponed telephone talks with Putin on Friday, saying he was ready to help with peace talks. He handed the invitation to Zelensky during a telephone conversation earlier this week.
Addition
Russia is a member of the G20, along with countries such as China and India, which have not joined sanctions against Moscow for its aggression.
The United States is one of those who fully supports Russia’s exclusion from the G20, although other countries, including China, oppose the move. Russia was excluded from the smaller G7 after Putin’s annexation of Crimea in 2014.
Earlier, the media said that including Zelensky on the summit list would be an even bigger logistical and diplomatic nightmare for Indonesia if Putin decided to attend the summit on the tropical island of Bali in person.
