34 senior members of the so-called “People’s Council of the DPR” and the “People’s Council of the LPR” were subject to sanctions. They are accused of violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, asserting state power over the territories of Ukraine without the permission of the Ukrainian government, according to the decision of the Australian authorities.
In addition, sanctions were imposed against another 76 deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation. It is noted that most of them supported the decision of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to recognize the independence of the so-called “L / DNR”.
Australia has also added to the list for disseminating misinformation and propaganda Russian MP Oleg Matveychev, who advocated the payment of reparations for the damage caused by Western sanctions and the war itself.
