The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Andriy Taran met the Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Matti Maasikas, the first stated that Ukraine wants to expand security cooperation with the EU and is considering participating in the European Union’s Structured Cooperation Program (PESCO).
According to the Minister, Ukraine plans to expand cooperation with the EU in all areas. In this regard, the Ministry of Defense continues to implement defense reform, which is aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and achieving the criteria for membership in the North Atlantic Alliance.
The Minister also told the EU representatives in Ukraine about the situation in the environmental protection zone, emphasizing that despite the violations by the Russian terrorist forces, Ukraine continues to fulfill its obligations.
Taran thanked the representatives for their continued support of Ukraine and assistance to the regions affected by Russia’s aggression.
