Ukraine Gate- Kyiv – May 6, 2022- Almost all people who left Ukraine due to Russian armed aggression intend to return home.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal in an interview with Polish public broadcaster TVP, the video of which was published in the Telegram of the head of the Ukrainian government.
“Since the beginning of this full-scale armed aggression, according to our data, about five million people have left Ukraine, and we believe that they are not classic refugees. We have internally displaced persons and externally displaced persons. Temporarily, because, according to our data and research, 99 percent of these people are determined to return to Ukraine. These are mostly women and children, whose husbands and parents are fighting for Ukraine today. And indeed, family reunification must take place. These people want to go home, they are waiting for the end of the war, or until the situation becomes more or less safe, “Shmygal said.
He added that in recent weeks about a million people have returned to Ukraine, and the flow of returns already exceeds the flow of outflows from Ukraine.
“That’s why we are waiting for all Ukrainians to return home. We are deeply grateful to Poland for an extremely warm, truly family reception in the truest sense of the word.
Many Ukrainians live in Polish families. And this is an extremely important, symbolic, mental moment between our peoples, between Ukrainian and Polish families. I am convinced that it will bring our peoples closer, “said the Prime Minister. He also added that the memory of this will remain in future generations for decades and hundreds of years.
“Indeed, Poland has been extremely effective in dealing with the multimillion-dollar flow of refugees from Ukraine. Indeed, everything was extremely civilized, structured, and we did not hear any complaints or any inappropriate attitude from any Ukrainian. This deserves great gratitude and respect, ” Shmygal stressed .
As a reported, Poland has already sheltered almost 3.2 million Ukrainians who left their homeland due to Russian aggression.
