We need to prepare for a more brutal Russian offensive in Ukraine in the coming weeks – Stoltenberg

. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said that Ukraine needs to prepare for an even more brutal offensive by Russian occupation forces in the coming weeks. He said this in an interview with Welt am Sonntag .

“We must prepare for the Russian offensive and for even greater brutality, even greater losses and even greater destruction of vital infrastructure and residential areas. The current Russian offensive in Donbass is not gaining momentum yet, because Ukrainian troops are vigorously defending themselves, Stoltenberg said.

He noted that NATO sees a sharp contrast between Russian and Ukrainian troops: Ukrainian troops are brave and know what they are fighting for. Russian troops suffer from poor leadership, low morale, and many do not know what they are fighting for.

The British government, a senior member of Britain’s national security service, has warned that Russia’s new offensive in eastern Ukraine could take “several months”.
