Ukraine Gate- Kyiv – May 8, 2022- The representative of the Organizing Committee of the International Gas Conference informed that the International Gas Union (IGU) had suspended all participation of Russian companies in its activities, of which Russia is a member of Gazprom and Novatek.
Due to the exclusion of the Korea Gas Consortium hosting the IGC in 2022, further participation of Russian entities in IGC-2022 cannot be carried out neither for speeches, nor for delegations, nor for participation in the exhibition or sponsorship.
The largest Russian gas companies “Gazprom and Novatek” have repeatedly participated in the intergovernmental conference, and their leaders, Alexei Miller and Leonid Michelson, have previously spoken at a conference in Korea.
According to Gazprom, the company plans to spend 137 million rubles on building a stand at an exhibition in the Korean city of Daegu, and Novatek also planned to build its own stand at IGC.
As the International City for Humanitarian Services includes 160 gas industry associations and companies, representing more than 95% of the global gas market.
