Ukraine Gate- Kyiv – May 9, 2022- After Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed Ukraine’s application for membership in the European Union on February 28, 2022, he today filled out the second part of the questionnaire to obtain candidate status for membership in the European Union.
Zelensky said he presented a full document to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during a video call, and expressed his gratitude to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen for the clear signs of support on this important path.
President Volodymyr Zelensky also handed over to the Head of the EU Delegation Matti Masikas the first completed part of the questionnaire for Ukraine on April 18 to receive candidate status for EU membership, and this questionnaire was handed over to the Ukrainian side personally by the European Commission President during her visit to Kyiv on April 8.
