“According to paragraph 21 of Article 6 of the Law of Ukraine” On the status of war veterans, guarantees of their social protection “the status of a participant in hostilities was granted to 1,292 volunteers,” – said in response to a request.
In Ukraine, more than 470,000 participants in hostilities are registered with the social protection bodies .

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed the law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Concerning the Granting of Status and Social Guarantees to Individuals Participating in the Anti-Terrorist Operation”, which regulates granting combatant (UBD) status to volunteers. The document was approved by the Verkhovna Rada on December 4, 2019, and entered into force on January 1, 2020.
Authorities said that according to this document, about 3,000 volunteers will be able to acquire the status of participants in hostilities.
