he European Union will provide another 500 million euros in military assistance to Ukraine. This was announced by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell to reporters on the sidelines of a meeting of G7 foreign ministers in Germany .

“I am announcing that the EU will provide another 500 million euros to support Ukraine in the field of defense. Thus, military aid to Ukraine currently reaches a total of 2 billion euros, “he said.
According to Borrel, these funds will be used, in particular, for heavy weapons, namely tanks, armored vehicles, heavy artillery and ammunition for Ukrainian defenders.

Earlier, the EU tripled its assistance to Ukraine within the Defense Fund to 1.5 billion euros.
The EU has also approved € 600 million to help Ukraine with its urgent financial needs – a total of € 1.2 billion in macro-financial assistance.
