Ukraine Gate- Kyiv – May 23, 2022 – The new season of the World Cup for Boating and Rowing began in Ratchez, Czech Republic, with the Ukrainians taking part in the tournament and winning three awards, including a gold, and the first medal of the season at the World Cup level, won by canoeist Oleg Borovik.
The Ukrainian won the “bronze” in the individual competition at a distance of 200 meters, by cutting the distance in 40.61 seconds, and lost to the winner – Lithuanian world champion Henrikas Gustotas in 2019 – 0.90 seconds. Hungarian David Korisanski won the “silver”.
The Ukrainians won another prize among the four kayaks, and the team of Oleg Kokharyk, Dmitry Danilenko, Igor Tronov and Ivan Semykin won the “silver medal” in the 500 meters.
The Ukrainians took second place with a time of 1: 20.29 minutes, the difference from the winner from Spain 0.97 seconds, and the Lithuanian team took third place on the podium.
Lyudmila Lausanne, a two-time winner of the 2020 Olympics, delighted her fans with a gold award, winning the championship in the 1,000m. She finished in 4:25.31 and won her first “gold” of the season, then dedicating her award to Ukraine.
The Chilean world champion Maria Maillard came in second place, and the third place – Chinese Li Li, and another Ukrainian Lyudmila Babak in fifth place (4: 40.43).
The results of the Ukrainians were as follows:
- “Gold”: Ludmila Lausanne (1000m single boat)
- “Silver”: Oleg Kokharek, Dmitriy Danlenko, Igor Tronov and Ivan Semykin (4 kayaks, 500 meters)
- Bronze: Oleg Borovik (200m single boat)
