The Ukrainian president describes the evacuation from Azovstal as the only positive moment of talks with Russia

Ukraine Gate- Kyiv – May 25, 2022 – Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky said in Davos that this stage of the war may turn into a diplomatic form when Russia shows its willingness to move to it, and when Ukraine says it will fight until it regains all its territory, it only means that Ukraine will actually do it, and it does not mean anything else, But it is about independence and sovereignty, this is a bloody stage, and the war can turn into a form of diplomatic talks in one way or another, with the participation of the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, who are more than our strategic partners, and we can go to this stage if we understand that at least the Russian side will appear.
Zelensky noted that Russia has not yet shown any interest in ending the war or even negotiating.
“I don’t see any interest, I don’t see a lot of substantial things,” Zelensky said.
According to him, the only positive aspect of talks with Russia is that people were evacuated from Mariupol, as well as civilians and soldiers from Azovstal.
“The United Nations and the ICRC helped as much as they could, so there was a result, but so far I don’t see further steps to achieve some results,” Zelensky said.
The President stressed that Ukraine has been experiencing such delays in the negotiation process since the Minsk process.
“We are against any artificial agreements without real assurance with an ordinary circle of partner states ready to confirm, support and guarantee the security of Ukraine,” he said.
