Ukraine Gate- Kyiv – May 26, 2022 – Referring to a high-ranking Turkish official, Reuters reported that Ankara is in talks with Moscow and Kiev to open a corridor through Turkey for Ukrainian grain exports.
“Turkey is negotiating with both Russia and Ukraine over grain exports from Ukraine,” said the official, who asked not to be identified.
It is said that Russia has closed all ports and trade routes through which Ukrainian grain is exported to all parts of the world, and more than 20 million tons of grain have been banned in the ports of Ukraine.
The European Commission has also organized Solidarity Lines to Ukraine to speed up the transport of grain to the EU by rail and road, but these transport capacities are currently insufficient.
European Commission Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis said that the European Commission does not rule out the creation of military corridors with the support of grain transportation from Ukrainian ports.
