Approximately 85% of Ukrainians believe that there are no “Nazis” among the Ukrainian authorities who oppress the Russian-speaking population. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) .
Details
According to them, at least 85% of respondents believe that there is no harassment of the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine (in particular, 85% of ethnic Russians and 90% of Russian-speaking residents of Ukraine said so).
The same percentage of Ukrainians believe that Ukraine has its own long history of formation and statehood (and not an “artificial” creation of Soviet power).
The vast majority of Ukrainians also believe that Western powers did not want and did not provoke Ukraine to war against Russia, that the idea of ”Nazis” in power in Ukraine is a fabrication, that the war began because of Russia’s desire to conquer Ukraine (not just claims). troops are deliberately attacking civilian infrastructure and civilians, which the Russian military is primarily to blame for the destruction of civilian infrastructure and civilian casualties.
Relatively little agreement on the ideas that are the aspirations of the people of Donbass. However, even in this case, 73% believe that the majority of Donbass residents want to remain part of Ukraine (it is noteworthy that as many – 73% – Donbass residents themselves say that the majority wants to stay in Ukraine), and 17% think that the majority wants to join to Russia or be independent.

The polls were conducted on May 19-24 by telephone interview. A total of 2009 respondents aged 18 and older were interviewed from all regions of Ukraine, except for the temporarily occupied Crimea and some districts of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
