In Vinnytsia, officials who decided to get rich by purchasing an anti-ice mixture were exposed.
Investigators estimate the budget losses at 5 million hryvnias. According to police, officials from the city’s utilities department conspired with a company that supplies salt. And the price of the mixture for sprinkling roads was artificially inflated several times. The difference between the actual and the stated price was taken away. Three officials have already been declared suspects.
“We have created anti-competitive conditions for other bidders, concluded an agreement at significantly inflated prices. At present, the state has suffered losses of over UAH 5 million,” said Vinnytsia Region Police Chief Ivan Ishchenko.
