The Verkhovna Rada supported Bill No. 3014 “On Electronic Communications” with proposals from President Volodymyr Zelensky.
228 people’s deputies voted for the adoption of the bill with technical and legal amendments.
The Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on September 30, but the president vetoed it and sent his proposals to parliament, in which he pointed out a number of inconsistencies with the Constitution and laws, as well as technical errors.
As stated in the explanatory note, the draft law “On Electronic Communications” will determine the legal basis for activities in the fields of electronic communications and radio frequency spectrum, as well as establish the powers of the state to manage and regulate such activities, the rights, obligations and principles of responsibility of individuals and legal entities that participate in this activity or use electronic communication services.
