During his evening address, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that due to Russia’s blockade of ports, Ukraine could not export 22 million tons of grain.
“Currently, due to the fact that Russia has blocked our ports on the Black Sea and seized our part of the Azov coast, we can not export 22 million tons of grain that are already in stock in our country. This is the amount that should have gone abroad. And Russia’s blockade of our exports is destabilizing the situation on a truly global scale, “Zelensky said.

According to the President, the result of such a blockade is the rise in food prices in different countries. Consequently, there is a threat of famine in Africa, Asia and some European countries.

Ukraine accounts for about 10% of the world’s wheat supplies, but since the start of the war, Russia has blocked key Ukrainian ports in the Black Sea through which it is transported. Hundreds of thousands of tons of grain are waiting to be stored in Odessa and other cities of export to the West.
