Ukraine Gate – Kyiv – June 1, 2022- After consultations in Kyiv, the governments of Ukraine and Poland signed eight agreements on cooperation in various fields.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal during a joint briefing with the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki in Kyiv.
“Today, for the first time in Ukraine, the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Poland held intergovernmental consultations in Ukraine. The number of agreements and memoranda signed just shows that the new level of relations between Ukraine and Poland development, “Shmygal said.
According to him, these are eight documents on cooperation in the fields of energy, military-defense complex, cross-border and customs cooperation, environmental policy, reconstruction of Ukraine, as well as cooperation on national memory.
“As a result of intergovernmental consultations, a joint statement was made by our governments. Among the important points is that Poland supports Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO, and will make efforts to obtain EU candidate status this June,” Shmygal said.
In addition, the Prime Minister noted, the parties agreed to strengthen defense cooperation, develop the Polish-Ukrainian-British alliance and work to strengthen sanctions against Russia, strengthen cross-border cooperation.
