International tourism lost $ 935 billion in ten months of 2020 and returned to the 1990 level.
In the period from January to October 2020, tourist destinations received 900 million fewer foreign tourists compared to the same period in 2019.
The UN expects that by the end of this year the level of world tourism will decrease by 70-75%. If so, the industry will return to 1990 levels, with a decline in arrivals of 1 billion and a loss of approximately $ 1.1 trillion. A return to 2019 levels of international arrivals will take approximately 2.5 to four years.
Coronavirus pandemic and the quarantine restrictions caused by it led to a record drop in the number of tourists in the first half of 2020.
Recall that the company “Ukrzaliznytsia” plans to transfer to rail transport half of all tourists who travel around Ukraine.
