Ukraine Gate – Kyiv – June 5, 2022- For a shirt worn by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on the Day of Embroidery, May 19, at a charity auction in the US capital paid 100 thousand dollars.
This was reported by the Voice of America.
The law firm Asters USA became the buyer of the presidential embroidered shirt. The auction took place as part of the presentation of the United24 program at the Ukrainian House in Washington.
“The United States is the first country to make an official presentation of the United 24 platform. It is symbolic that this presentation is taking place on the 100th day of the Russian war against Ukraine.” – said the Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova.
According to her, Ukraine House was a partner of this initiative in the United States.
“As a result, the funds for United 24 are sent through a special account of Ukraine House. People who donate will receive all benefits in the US tax sphere, in accordance with local law,” the ambassador explained.
It is noted that during the charity auction, in addition to Zelensky’s embroidered shirt, T-shirts signed by Artem Dovbyk and Andriy Yarmolenko were sold, in which they played during the winning match of the Ukrainian national team against Scotland on June 1. Also, a well-known ceramic mug in the shape of a rooster, similar to the one that survived on a locker in a Russian-fired apartment building in the village of Borodyanka in the Kyiv region, came out of the hammer.
As reported, on May 17, President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on the initiative to establish the national brand United24 to unite the efforts of international partners in support of Ukraine.
United24 has introduced a “single window” for donations from charities, international partners and citizens to support Ukraine, in particular in the following areas: assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, humanitarian, medical and children’s assistance, infrastructure rehabilitation, digital and information counteraction to the armed forces aggression.
