At the beginning of the war, Putin’s propagandists announced almost every hour that the Russian army would reach the Dnieper in three days. It turned out that such deadlines for the probable surrender of Kyiv were announced by pro-Kremlin experts at the end of last year.
Details
It turned out that the first statement about the capture of Ukraine was made on December 15 last year. Then in one of the Russian media stated that if desired, Russian troops “will reach the Dnieper in three or four days.”
“Ground maneuver forces will work in conjunction with organized intelligence elements associated with powerful strike forces,” the propaganda publication said in December.
At the same time, on the same day, December 15, another statement was made , at first glance – not related to the war. Dmytro Mazepin, then the majority owner of Russia’s UralKhim company (he was still the manager of Togliattiazot at the time and owned 80.51% of the company after the war), said UralKhim wanted to reduce its dependence on ammonia supplies through Ukraine.
At the same time, Mazepin has repeatedly stressed that the transit of ammonia through Ukraine is constantly accompanied by a large number of risks due to Russia’s conflicts with Ukraine.
However, the possibility of such transit and export of ammonia to the Russian Togliattiazot, as stated by Mazepin, is possible only in one way – through the ammonia pipeline “Togliatti-Odesa”.
On average, Russia distills 2.5 million tons of ammonia annually through the Togliatti-Odesa ammonia pipeline. Ukraine receives an average of UAH 1.6 billion annually from this transit. But this is only a small percentage of what Russia receives from the transit of ammonia through Ukraine.
The Ukrainian transit branch is the fifth largest in the world, and Russia delivered ammonia through the Ukrainian ammonia pipeline to the Odessa port plant, from where it was shipped by sea to the plants of the American oil company Occidental Petroleum.
Russia receives up to $ 12 billion a year from ammonia supplies through Ukraine to the West. For comparison: the budget of Cyprus in 2021 amounted to 13 billion dollars. So the entire budget of the whole of Cyprus is almost equal to the revenue of the aggressor country. And all thanks to the Ukrainian pipeline, with the “leadership” of which Mazepin was in conflict.
A few days before the war in Ukraine, Mazepin talked with Russian President Putin and promised to “surrender” Odessa (where the port plant is located, through which Russian ammonia is exported to American oil companies), in exchange for control of this enterprise.
Before
Oleg Ustenko, the President’s Adviser on Economic Affairs , stated that there is an economic component to Russia’s war against Ukraine .
In his opinion, the Russian business community was also involved in planning the Russian attack. Among the Russian businessmen who could benefit from the war in Ukraine are Mykhailo Fridman (Alfa-Bank Ukraine, LetterOne International Investment Business), Andriy Melnychenko (EuroChem Mineral Chemical Company), Oleg Deripaska (owner Basic Element Holding, former owner of HTZ) and Dmytro Mazepin (United Chemical Company Uralkhim).
Also, according to economist Oleg Pendzin, the revolt of Russian businessmen is currently impossible , because the oligarchs, who still remain in Russia, are in “contact” with the President of Russia.
