The People’s Deputy noted that the content component of education will be reviewed in accordance with new challenges – the system must respond.

“No matter how hard we try, we always knew that we had an aggressive neighbor with a bunch of weapons. But we did not want to believe that they so rotted the whole nation. Now we are convinced of that. It became quite obvious to most that pro-Russian narratives were implanted in all available ways: through education, culture, literature… Of course, it is time for us to reconsider everything, ”Babak said.
The review will focus on studying, for example, the works of Russian writers, as well as what skills students will receive. Schools will provide basic military training in a broader sense.

The parliamentarian added that the infrastructure for such training needs to be rebuilt, but it needs to be done. And the military who are defending our country can become teaching staff.
“We will now have a huge number of participants in hostilities in all regions, and they could take part in it. There can be a good symbiosis here – we are reintegrating them into a peaceful life, and they will pass on the right values and the right skills to children, “the people’s deputy said.
As for when such a model is likely to be implemented, Babak suggests that it will be possible for the 2023-2024 school year.
“It is necessary. We all understand that this is one of the vital skills (…). I believe that every citizen of our country should have basic skills of warfare,” he added.

Currently, the course “Defense of Ukraine” is provided for students of 10th and 12th grades of secondary schools. It has elements of both fire training and tactical medicine skills.
