Ukraine Gate – Kyiv – June 8, 2022- A senior White House official said in response to a request from Ukraine’s Voice of America Service that the Biden administration is working with international partners to provide Ukraine with effective anti-ship missiles to protect its maritime borders in the face of Russian aggression.
“We support Ukraine and work to help it improve its coastal defenses, and as part of these efforts, we provide Ukraine with unmanned coastal defense ships, and we are also working with allies and partners to provide Ukraine with missiles and anti-ship systems,” he added.
He stressed that the US side maintains continuous contacts with Ukraine to meet the most urgent needs.
The administration spokesperson also stressed that the United States remains the largest provider of defense assistance to Ukraine.
On June 1, the United States announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine, and last month the House and Senate passed, and the president approved a bill that would provide $40 billion to support Ukraine and other countries affected by Russian aggression.
