The appearance of Keanu Reeves in such projects as “Speed”, “On the Crest of the Wave” and, of course, in the John Wick franchise, cemented the actor’s fame as an action star. Nevertheless, he continues to love the science fiction genre, with pleasure acting in sci-fi projects. Proof of this is the triquel, Bill & Ted’s Incredible Adventure, released this summer, and the upcoming Matrix 4. Moreover, Reeves became one of the prototypes for the Cyberpunk 2077 game released on December 10.
In an interview with the BBC, the actor explained where his love for the science fiction genre comes from. It’s simple: in his youth, Reeves was fond of reading science fiction literature and watching science fiction films, which greatly influenced him.
“I think I grew up with William Gibson and Neuromante, read Philip K. Dick and even The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Been watching the films “Mad Max” and “Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior”, “Blade Runner 2049” and even “Planet of the Apes”. I’ve read The Lord of the Rings. Studied fantasy and science fiction. I just feel how the motives that arise in these genres often explore our world in which we live. It has always been something inspiring or supportive for me. When I became a part of such stories, it gave me the opportunity to escape from reality, but at the same time helped to form my worldview and interpret the real world,” said the artist.
We Will be able to see Reeves in December next year, when the Matrix 4 will be released in theaters.
