Switzerland has approved a sixth package of sanctions against Russia, including an embargo on Russian oil. This is stated in a press release published on the website of the Swiss government .

“On June 10, the Federal Council decided to approve new EU sanctions against Russia and Belarus,” the statement said.

It is also reported that the Swiss government has also decided to impose financial sanctions and a ban on entry into the country for another 100 people.
Among the citizens are citizens of Russia and Belarus – servicemen, representatives of political circles, businessmen and people who spread propaganda and misinformation about the war in Ukraine.
Berne’s sanctions include disconnecting four banks from Russia and Belarus from the international SWIFT system.

On June 3, the European Union officially announced the sixth package of sanctions against Russia with a partial oil embargo. It was not possible to agree on a full embargo on Russian oil. Hungary’s position was a stumbling block.
As it became known later, the EU eased the sixth package of sanctions against Russia, removing the ban on access to cloud services.
The European Union has already begun work on the seventh package of sanctions against Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.
